ADVENTURE SAILING AROUND IRELAND
Enjoy stunning scenery and succulent seafood on our 4-week ‘Around Ireland’ adventure. Beginning and ending in Dartmouth this circumnavigation will see you exploring nooks and crannies along the Irish coastline on board our one of our fantastic yachts, sailing in and out of ports like a fiddler’s elbow and enjoying the craic along the way.
WHAT’S THE PLAN?
Setting sail from Dartmouth, looping around the coast of Cornwall we head for our first port of call, Wexford on the South East coast . From here it’s onwards and upwards to Dublin, famed for its nightlife with its numerous bars and pubs offering live music and plenty of the black stuff. A night on the tiles in this city will guarantee to start the voyage with a bang! Across the border in Northern Ireland, the affluent harbour town of Bangor is teeming with big yachts and provides a spectacular sight. Being only a stones throw from Belfast you’ll also have the opportunity to take a black cab up the Shankhill Road or visit Samson and Goliath, the landmark cranes used in the building of Titanic. The final stop in is Portrush and the strikingly geometrical natural land mass that is Giant’s Causeway. Rounding the North West corner, take in the rugged beauty of windswept Greencastle, visit the bustling seaside town of Donegal and experience great fishing in Ballina before heading south. The quaint ‘picture postcard’ village of Killary Harbour leaves a big impression and contrasts beautifully with the next stop, Galway, a historic university city. Finally on the River Shannon, we pay a visit to Limerick which is famous for its rain and was the setting of the hilarious and touching novel, Angela’s Ashes. Coming full circle around the South coast, the last leg of the journey, step back in time and experience some legendary Irish hospitality in the pubs of Kinsale and Cork. Always up for a bit of banter the friendly locals will give you a warm welcome and leave you with fond memories of this glorious country. Great sailing stories, new friends and plenty of Guinness are just a few of the treasured souvenirs you’ll take home.
