UK - GRAN CANARIA ADVENTURE SAIL
This 18 day sailing adventure starts in Southampton and heads south across the Bay of Biscay to Gran Canaria. You will be sailing on board our amazing Challenge 72 Big Spirit Adventure. A Biscay crossing is a major achievement in a sailor's logbook and you can rely on our experienced skipper to make this a memorable and enjoyable experience. Doing this trip on a Challenge 72 will ensure you feel safe but also have a great sail all the way down. After a week at sea and around 1,350 nautical miles, your first port of call will be Porto Santo, a small almost tropical island north east of Madeira. This will be an opportunity to relax for a few days on its white sandy beaches, clean up the boat and get ready for the two or three day trip down to Gran Canaria (perhaps calling into Madeira if we have time).
We will arrive in Gran Canaria as the initial preparations for the ARC crossing get under way and it will be an opportunity to see some of the boats before they embark on their transatlantic adventure.
The whole total trip will be approximately 1,750 miles making it ideal for: • Mile building • New sailing adventures & experiences • Qualifying ocean passages
