ADVENTURE SAILING ON THE GIRONDE RIVER FOR A WEEKS WINE TASTING
Fly down to La Rochelle for a relaxed week sailing down to and cruising the Gironde area on Oboe D'Amore, our new Dufour 485 and enjoy the châteaux of France's Bordeaux region. Alternatively, sail there or back on one of our Bay of Biscay Milebuilders.
VINEYARDS
Sailing up the Gironde estuary we'll pass the roofs and turrets of the famous Médoc châteaux of Bordeaux’s ‘Left Bank’. We will guide you on tours of châteaux such as Château Cos d'Estournel, Lynch-Bages, Haut Brion and Vieux Château Certan. After tasting numerous cask samples we'll be spoilt for choice with a number of local restaurants to enjoy the Gironde cuisine alongside more mature bottles of Bordeaux wine.
ACCOMMODATION & DINING
Residing in the comfort of our yacht, there will be no more than two people per cabin and with our skipper who prides himself in his gourmet galley, locally sourced ingredients will ensure delicious meals on board. We can also reserve a room for an optional night at the recently renovated Château Les Ormes de Pez in St Éstophe for an added bit of luxury (please talk to the office regarding prices).
THE SAILING
Taking Oboe D'Amore (Dufour 485) our larger and most comfortable yacht you’ll enjoy fantastic sailing under the guidance of our RYA instructor. A cross Channel mile builder can be added to this trip and is an exhilarating experience that takes seven nights from Dartmouth to Bordeaux.
