BAY OF BISCAY MILE BUILDER
This two week sailing adventure starts in Dartmouth and heads west towards the picturesque Isles of Scilly before sailing across the Bay of Biscay to Portugal. A Biscay crossing is a major achievement in a sailor's logbook and you can rely on our experienced skipper to make this a memorable and enjoyable experience. Our next port of call, the Costa Verde in north Portugal, is an area of dense green vegetation with many beautiful ports to choose from. From here we'll visit the capital, Lisbon before sailing to the famous Algarve region where Vilamoura’s vibrant night life and climatic temperatures will ensure that 'holiday feeling'. Leaving Portugal we head for the Straights of Gibraltar, the gateway to the Mediterranean, and a fantastic area for observing dolphins and whales. This time of year also sees the Rock of Gibraltar become a staging post for many thousands of migrating birds heading for tropical Africa. The final leg of the journey is the passage from Gibraltar to the Canaries. Depending on time, you'll either explore southern Spain or else head straight for Gran Canaria and do some island hopping across to Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, La Palma or Tenerife. This trip is ideal for: • RYA qualifications • Mile building • New sailing adventures & experiences • Qualifying ocean passages
Cruise to the Canaries for more winter sun For a more relaxed two weeks of cruising and gentle exploration we're sailing our brand new Dehler 47 from Gibraltar to Gran Canaria; a great opportunity to soak up some winter sun and to be part of the premier crew aboard a pristine yacht. Starting in Gib, the two weeks provide the opportunity to explore either the coast of Spain and Portugal, at the start of the voyage or to do some island hopping in the Canaries at the end.
