THE MOST RESPECTED SAILING QUALIFICATION IN THE WORLD
The Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate of Competence is granted by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) in conjunction with the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) and is the most respected indicator of yachting competence around the world. The course finishes with a practical examination conducted by an RYA Yachtmaster Examiner who is independent of NONSTOP Sail. Initially, our Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor makes an evaluation of your ability, and then over the following five days skills are honed in order to become a proficient sailor by day or night, sail or power and in both familiar and unfamiliar waters. Particular attention is given to man over board practice although the following subjects will be included - passage planning and weather, preparation and safety at sea, maintenance, navigation, pilotage and knowledge of the International Collision Regulations. The Instructor will debrief you before the RYA examiner comes aboard at the weekend. You will be assessed on a short passage and various other demonstrations of your skippering techniques. The examiner might question you on any part of the RYA syllabus from Competent Crew to Yachtmaster.
COURSE OPTIONS
All year round – • 7 Day Course (Sun 5:30pm - Sun 3:00pm)
