  ST. MAARTEN HEINEKEN CUP REGATTA
SERIOUS FUN IN THE CARIBBEAN

Heineken RegattaThe Heineken Cup Regatta, now in its 29th year, is a three day event with a race each day but at NONSTOP we have made it a seven day event. Last year 281 yachts (including a number of the +100ft. “Big Boats”) from all over the world came to enjoy the clear skies and steady breezes; it really is yacht racing at its best. Our week long Heineken racing programme gives you the chance to train as a crew before testing your skills against some of the best boats out there.

ST. MAARTEN TRAINING

Join Big Spirit, our Challenge 72 in St. Maarten on the Monday for a few days of leisurely sailing and race preparation. As well as getting to know your fellow crew mates, this will be an opportunity to get a feel for this 72ft yacht, hoist and set  the many sails and start working as a race crew. In true Caribbean style there will also be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the culture and hospitality.

THE COMMODORES CUP

Thursday is the Prelude to the official event with the Budget Marine Commodores Cup. This is a great opportunity to have a bit of race practice ensuring everyone knows their positions over a very simple course and gives you a chance to eye up the opposition before the regatta begins.

THE RACING

Three days of offshore racing around the beautiful island of St. Maarten will provide you with the perfect balance of competitive sailing and good fun. Throughout each race all of you will experience the different roles on a racing yacht, from helming to winch grinding, ensuring that you get the full racing experience from your time with NONSTOP. Each evening we will head to the local harbours or beaches where you can recount the successes of your day over a rum punch or two.

CARIBBEAN HOSPITALITY

As always Caribbean hospitality is turned on in the evenings, with plenty of beach parties, live Caribbean reggae and of course the continual flow of Heineken and rum punch. The final beach party on Sunday night after prize giving is the climax where last year Grammy award winning Shaggy entertained the crews.

WHAT THE PRO'S THINK

Andy Beadsworth (Olympic and America’s Cup Veteran) summed up last year’s Heineken Cup by saying, “It’s my second St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, and I didn’t need much persuasion to come back. It’s one of the best events around. The conditions were perfect, 18-23 knots throughout. It was just superb.”
